Access to the fair

Access to the fair is free for all visitors. However, prior registration is required to avoid queues at the entrance.

  • Students and alumni can register here.
  • PhD candidates and postdocs can register here.
  • Visitors to the lifelong learning fair can register here.

Haven’t registered in advance? You can still visit the fair and register on-site, but please be aware that this may involve waiting in line.

To enter the fair, you’ll need your personal QR code, so have your registration form with the QR code ready—either printed or on your smartphone—at the entrance of Hall 1 at Flanders Expo.

Please note that lockers and a cloakroom will not be available. We recommend leaving large backpacks and handbags at home.

Visitor badge

Upon entering the fair, you will receive a personalized visitor badge!

If you wish, you can digitally share your CV with companies/organisations on-site using the personal QR code on your badge. To do so, you must register in advance, log in, and upload your CV via your dashboard.

The purpose of the visitor badge is to facilitate networking with attending companies/organisations. The colours on your badge indicate your field of study or discipline, as well as the job market sectors you are interested in. Participating companies and organizations can use these colours to identify visitors who are of interest to them.

As a visitor, you can also use the same colour codes to find out which profiles companies/organizations are looking for. These colour dots can be found on the side panel of each booth and on the A4 display inside the booth.

Catering

During the fair drinks and sandwiches can be purchased in the catering area.

TIPS

  • More than 300 companies and organizations will be participating in the fair. It’s important to check the exhibitor list in advance, find out where they are located on the exhibition floor, and see which profiles they are looking for.

Keep in mind that the afstudeerbeurs consists of multiple sub-fairs: the general job market, the interuniversity Job Market for Young Researchers, the Ghent Capital of Technology corner, the North Sea Port Talent corner, the TechTransfer & Gentrepreneur lane, and the lifelong learning fair. Make sure to explore those sections and companies/organisations that interest you.

  • Associate degree students, BAs, and MAs can take advantage of live CV checks on Thursday 27 March. Register for the fair and book an appointment with an HR professional who will review and provide feedback on your CV.

  • PhD candidates and postdocs can have their CV reviewed online on Thursday 13 March. Register for the interuniversity Job Market for Young Researchers and schedule an appointment with a professional for CV feedback.

Additionally, PhD candidates and postdocs can book an online speed career coaching session. A career coach will help with identifying key competencies and translating them into a professional context, understanding motivations and potential pitfalls, and exploring opportunities to develop or refine skills further.
