The Westhoek Boulevard is an initiative coming out of the TRANSUNIV project to promote employment and labour mobility in the border region.
On the occasion of the 2018 edition of the Afstudeerbeurs special attention will be given to entrepreneurs & start-ups.
A start-up corner can be found on the 1st floor of the ICC. Also on the 2nd floor, @ the Job Market for Young Researchers, 4 successful start-up companies can be found: De Verdieping, AM-Team, Sigasi & Luceda Photonics.
Aspiring entrepreneurs should definitely come and talk to Johan Bil and Patrick Van Kwikkelberge representing the UGent TechTransfer Office & Tech Lane Ghent Science Park (2nd floor ICC, booth 40). Johan and Patrick are happy to answer any questions about start-ups, growth, the tech ecosystem, ... Nothing is off limits!
At the Job Market for Young Researchers visitors can choose from a wide range of interactive workshops and hands-on information sessions about the application and job search process - exclusively targeted at doctoral students and doctoral degree holders.

Tune up your CV for interview success at the Job Market for Young Researchers (ICC Ghent, 2nd floor). Book a face-to-face session with a careers consultant or HR-professional.
It's required to book a consultation with a careers advisor in advance! You can book your CV analysis after registration.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: All CV analysis slots are currently booked. On 27 March drop-in CV consulting for which you do not have to make an appointment beforehand, will be made available in the Bauwenszaal on the 2nd floor of the ICC. Please, keep in mind that these drop-in resume checks will be allocated on a first-come first served basis. Make sure to bring ample copies of your CV.
Having registered, you can put together your wish list by ticking the boxes of the companies you wish to visit, and the workshops and infosessions you would like to attend. If you make an appointment for a (free) CV analysis, this will be added automatically to your wish list.
It is possible to dowload your personal wish list as a PDF or print it and bring it with you to the fair. Your wish list will help you prepare for the fair and will help you find your way in the ICC on 27 March 2018.

The Ghent University Doctoral Schools, in cooperation with Ghent University Association, host the annual Job Market for Young Researchers where employers can connect with PhD students and postdoctoral fellows to discuss interesting job opportunities. The Job Market for Young Researchers also offers a free resume review service and a wide range of career development workshops for job seekers.
